Reviving Furniture with Flair & Feathering your Home with Style
Embrace the art of transformation. We specialize in allowing forgotten pieces to regain their glory, and help your spaces come alive with character. At The Shabby Peacock, we don’t just refurnish, we rejuvenate. Let your home preen like a peacock.
Thank you for your interest in the services that The Shabby Peacock has to offer! As the proprietress and sole furniture artist, I assist you in creating a design for your furniture piece(s) and consult you every step of the way from choosing a paint color to small details like selecting new hardware and whimsical drawer liners. I specialize in using chalk paint where you may see brush strokes, inconsistencies in color, and wood shining through, however, I can guarantee a finished product that will look professional and cohesive. There will be beauty in the imperfections and charm in every detail. If a more “finished” look is your style, I am happy to help you achieve that by using milk paint which is more self-leveling and results in a more “even” finish.
If interior decorating services are what you are seeking, please contact me for a free consultation! I have always had an “eye for design” and while my personal style is more “maximalist”, I have consulted on many projects over the years and love helping others discover their own personal style. I believe in creating a space that makes YOU happy, not decorating for others.
Meet Kristin
I have always possessed a creative streak from the time I was young. Once my husband, Jeff, and I had children, I was blessed with the opportunity to stay home and raise our two girls. Looking for something of my own, I decided to launch The Shabby Peacock after my good friend, Lori, gave me the opportunity to experiment with painting and refinishing some furniture. Through trial and error, I realized, with the support and encouragement from my friends and family that I had the talent to mold this into a successful business where I could not only work from home, but also utilize my creative abilities to beautify peoples’ homes. While I do not have an official degree in design, I make up for it in experience. I do hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Fashion Merchandising with a concentration in Marketing and a Bachelor and Master of Science in Education where I utilized my creative abilities in the classroom teaching middle school students Family and Consumer Sciences (Home Economics) for years before leaving teaching and starting my business in 2017.
